The SONGMICS Exercise Bike is without doubt the best exercise bike you can buy for less than £100.

After thoroughly testing this budget bike, plus a bunch of others, the SONGMICS came out on top across most of our criteria, such as features, sturdiness, comfort and overall quality.

This home exercise bike boasts a clear LCD display, which gives you live metrics on your training such as your speed, distance, time, total calories burned and even your pulse, which is provided via the heartrate monitors integrated into the handles.

It’s also super silent – no more worrying about waking up family or neighbours. When in use, it’s very quiet and one of the quietest exercise bikes we tested at this price range.

One of the biggest and most important areas is resistance levels. With any bike, you want to make sure that there’s enough resistance to give you a decent workout. It’s also beneficial to have a large range of resistance levels so others can make use of it.

Fortunately, the SONGMICS excels in this area, with a whopping 8 levels of magnetic resistance under its belt.

The fact that they’ve managed to pack 8 levels of resistance, AND that it is magnetic resistance at below £100, is truly impressive. Most bikes at this value would be belt-driven, which don’t quite give the same feeling and don’t tend to last as long as magnetic bikes.

As an added little bonus, the bike comes with a floor mat to protect your flooring so you don’t have to go out and buy one yourself.

It also has a built-in phone/tablet holder so you can watch TV or YouTube whilst exercising.

Once you’re done exercising, this bike folds up quickly and easily and can be stored in a cupboard or out of the way.

If you’re looking for the best exercise bike under £100, then look no further.

Our runner-up is the XS Sports B210 Folding Magnetic Exercise Bike. Whilst it didn’t quite get the coveted top spot, it still holds its own in a lot of key areas.

This exercise bike is super lightweight (just 14kg) and is very easy to set up upon arrival. With a maximum weight limit of 100kg (just under 16 stone), it should be a good option for those who are looking for a reliable home exercise bike.

The on-board LCD gives you the usual updates you’d expect to see, such as your pulse (via the sensors in the handlebars), speed, distance, time and calories burned.

A couple of the biggest things we noticed were the noise (or lack thereof) and the comfort. When you’re pedalling away, even at high resistance and high speed, this bike is very quiet. It’s also very comfortable when compared to other bikes within this price bracket, so you don’t need to worry about getting uncomfortable after 30 minutes or so.

Unfortunately it doesn’t come with a tablet or phone holder as the SONGMICS does, nor does it have as many resistance levels, which is why it couldn’t quite take the top spot, but it is still a solid choice for a budget home exercise bike.

Our suggestion would be to opt for the XS Sports B210 Folding Magnetic Exercise Bike if the SONGMICS is out of stock and you need an exercise bike asap.

For those looking for something a little different, it might be worth considering a mini exercise bike.

A mini exercise bike does the same job as a regular exercise bike, but without the seat or the handlebars. You just have the pedal section, allowing you to place it wherever you want and store it without the hassle of storing a full-sized exercise bike.

Mini exercise bikes are great if you’re short on space, or if you simply don’t want a regular bike and you just want something simple that will still give you the benefits of a regular exercise bike.

They’re also significantly cheaper than upright exercise bikes.

The best mini exercise bike is the Ultrasport Mini Bike Exercise Bike. It’s ultra-compact, very well built and provides variable resistance levels.

More importantly, it can be used both as a regular bike for your legs, and it can be placed on a raised surface such as a table and can be used to work out your arms.

This is a great option for anyone who wants to save on space or doesn’t want to spend too much on a bike. It’s also ideal for elderly users and anyone recovering from an injury.

Are cheap exercise bikes worth it?

Absolutely! You can get an affordable exercise bike with tonnes of features that will give you a great workout. You can even get mini exercise bikes that are even more affordable, but still give you the benefits of a full-sized exercise bike.

Which value exercise bike is best?

The best value exercise bike is the SONGMICS Exercise Bike. It has 8 levels of magnetic resistance, is very well built and doesn’t move or wobble during use. It also comes with a durable floor mat to keep your floor looking its best.

Which exercise bike is best for weight loss?

There’s no one best exercise bike for weight loss – it all depends on your specific goals. Some people may need a more rugged, sturdy bike in order to lose weight, whilst others looking to lose a few pounds around their waist might get on fine with a cheap home exercise bike. Be sure to pick a bike that’s best suited for your goals.

Which indoor exercise bike is best?

At under £100, the best indoor exercise bike is the SONGMICS Exercise Bike. There are other exercises that provide more features at much higher price brackets, so be sure to pick the best exercise bike for your price point.
